I'll never grow up and I'll never grow old, blame it on the love of rock & roll

We’re Proud of the BBC Too

You probably saw the music video stand-up comic and singer/songwriter Mitch Benn released onto YouTube in the last few weeks, if not you need to watch it right away.

Not only is it really catchy but it’s plugging an important message.

As pretty big media geeks we spend a lot of time watching different TV channels and shows and one thing I have definitely learnt is that the BBC puts out a lot of good content.

I’m not going to bother listing all the shows we love on the BBC, needless to say there is a lot and they go back as far as my living memory takes me and beyond.

As many people have said in the media storm around this song most of the whole world envies the BBC platform, and today the Murdock strings have pulled the Government once again against it. For a fraction of the cost of the literally billions their Tory mates have dodged in corporate tax they nailed the BBC with a major bill as well as making a shitload of other cuts.

I’m still open to see what the coalition Government can do but so far all I’m seeing is exactly what we always suspected from them, bullshit and bullying and destroying the things we love.

I don’t mind paying my licence fee, it’s not a lot in comparison to all the other bills we get and in terms of real time entertainment return it’s the best money I spend every single day. Please everyone remember how much the BBC really does for that tiny £150ish quid and more than anything remember what we’ll loose if we keep letting Murdock and Cameron take the piss, today it’s a bigger bill tomorrow it could be banning BBC News channel or stopping original comedy because Sky’s isn’t as good.
